Food Network Celebrity Chefs Return to the Bay Area

San Francisco (February 2008) --- The Food Network's Tyler Florence, who lives in Mill Valley, has signed with Personality Hotels to open a restaurant in the current York Hotel in downtown San Francisco. The hotel is under renovation, and will emerge in the summer as the Hotel Vertigo, named after the classic Alfred Hitchcock film in which it played a part.

It's been several years, but Napa Valley TV chef Michael Chiarello is returning to the stoves. The founding chef of Tra Vigne in St. Helena - and more recently TV personality, cookbook author, vintner, and olive oil impresario - will open a restaurant this fall in Yountville's V Marketplace.

Chiarello's restaurant, as yet unnamed, is slated to open this fall with a menu catergorized as Italian, "but personal," with a farm-to-table focus. Located next to the restaurant will be the fifth location of Chiarello's NapaStyle store. The shop will feature a demonstration kitchen as well as a traditional collection of food, housewares and furniture. The first NapaStyle opened in Berkeley two years ago; others include Los Gatos, Corte Madera and Pasadena.
